Abstract: With the expansion of oil and gas exploration into ultra-deep water environments, the dynamic behavior and vibration control of subsea production risers face severe challenges due to complex marine conditions and multi-physics coupling effects. This work systematically reviews recent advances in the dynamics theory and vibration control technologies of deep-sea production risers, while exploring the application prospects of intelligent control theories for subsea robots in deep water operations. From the perspective of dynamics, the nonlinear coupled vibration mechanisms under vortex-induced vibration (VIV), internal flow-induced vibration (FIV), and combined external-internal flow excitations are analyzed, revealing multiscale fluid-structure interaction mechanisms and nonlinear dynamic instability behaviors. For vibration suppression, the design principles and engineering applicability of active and passive VIV suppression devices are critically evaluated, emphasizing that active control strategies based on smart materials and adaptive structures are pivotal to overcoming the efficiency limitations of traditional passive methods. Furthermore, focusing on subsea robotic systems, it summarizes the strengths and limitations of hydrodynamic modeling, PID control, robust control and ABS methods. It highlights that integrating multimodal fuzzy control with digital twin technology will significantly enhance trajectory tracking accuracy and disturbance rejection capabilities in complex flow fields. Future research should integrate nonlinear dynamics, intelligent control algorithms, and real-time monitoring to establish a multidisciplinary vibration suppression framework for riser lifecycle management, thereby providing theoretical and technical foundations for the safe and efficient operation of deep water subsea production systems.
