Response to Comments on Choosing the Study Groups while Finding the Association of Vitamin D Levels and Hand Grip Strength among Patients with Diabetes

Abstract: Dear Madam It is indeed a pleasure that you read the article with interest. I thank you for the observation that you have made. I agree that the sample size is small and may not be representative of the effects of vitamin D deficiency in a large population. The wide age range may have contributed to the results showing no changes in hand grip strength. Studying subgroups would have further reduced the sample size, making it difficult to draw meaningful conclusions even then. A larger sample size with a study designed for adequate power and planned subgroup analysis, as you suggested, makes sense and is important. The study also has many confounders that need to be addressed in a carefully planned cohort or cross-sectional study of patients living with diabetes. Your observations are valid and provide us with valuable insight for future research. My team appreciates the concern and interest that you portrayed in the letter.
