CliMaPan-Lab: An open-source Python framework for agent-based macroeconomic simulation of climate- and pandemic-related systemic risks
Year: 2025
Type: software-paper
Abstract: CliMaPan-Lab is a Python-based, open-source framework for agent-based macroeconomic simulation under climate and pandemic risks. Developed as an Agent-based Integrated Assessment Model (AB-IAM), it integrates macro-financial dynamics with a climate and a pandemic modules to evaluate complex policy scenarios. Designed for both newcomers and advanced users, the platform supports modular experimentation, parallelized batch runs, and reproducible workflows. The framework facilitates the analysis of compound risks and systemic interactions beyond the scope of traditional models. Code, data, and documentation are publicly available under a permissive license to ensure transparency, extensibility, and wide adoption across research and policy communities.
