Abstract: Type A aortic dissection (TAAD) is a rare, but potential lethal complication post-heart transplantation (HTx) that typically affects the native aorta. This case report describes a supracoronary ascending aortic replacement in a patient who was admitted with a TAAD of the donor aorta 24 years post-HTx. This case underscores the importance of long term monitoring and management in HTx recipients, especially those with risk factors like hypertension, to prevent late aortic complications in their life after transplantation.
