Abstract: Choroidal neovascularization (CNV) secondary to age-related macular degeneration (AMD) represents a significant global cause of visual impairment. Contemporary therapeutic approaches for neovascular AMD focus on inducing regression of CNV by inhibiting critical growth factors involved in angiogenesis. For nearly two decades, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) has been the principal therapeutic target, with multiple intravitreally administered agents developed to achieve anatomical restoration and improved visual outcomes through sustained dosing.
