Kelvin-wave-inspired optical vortex excitation in Kerr nonlinear media

Abstract: This work demonstrates that two seemingly distinct types of vortices---those in quantum liquids and optical vortex beams---are governed by the same nonlinear equation. Building on this insight, the authors propose that this correspondence can serve as a bridge between two different fields of study: quantum fluid dynamics and nonlinear optics.
