Abstract: The exact explicit solution of a stigmatic two-reflector optical system under Herschel’s condition is presented Details of how the solution is calculated are reported. A comparison of caustics between an aplanatic optical system and the relevant system meeting Herschel’s condition is also presented. Ray tracing verification on different optical systems validates the obtained results.
