Abstract: Psoriasis is typically managed via a ‘Staircase’ approach, slowly escalating treatment from topical treatments to biologics, often delaying effective intervention for several years. Recent evidence supports an ‘Elevator’ approach, advocating for early use of systemic therapies to improve long-term outcomes, prevent disease memory and reduce comorbidities. A paradigm shift from reactive disease-centred care may improve long-term outcomes of psoriasis patients.
