The genome sequence of a soft-winged flower beetle, Anthocomus fasciatus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Coleoptera: Melyridae)

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: We present a genome assembly from an individual female Anthocomus fasciatus (soft-winged flower beetle; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Melyridae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 528.59 megabases and 530.75 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.89%) is scaffolded into 10 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.77 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
