Abstract: ABSTRACT This study investigates the delignification of sugarcane bagasse fibers to enhance their properties for potential use in sanitary napkins. Sugarcane bagasse, an abundant agro‐industrial byproduct, was subjected to chemical treatment methods for the removal of remove lignin, thereby improving the absorbency and softness of fibers. The treated fibers were characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) to analyze chemical changes and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to observe morphological modifications. The results demonstrated that delignification effectively enhanced the hydrophilic properties of fibers, making them comparable to conventional materials used in sanitary napkins. The sanitary napkins were also fabricated using treated bagasse sheets and tested for absorbency and ability to withstand pressure after absorption. This study highlights the potential of sugarcane bagasse as a sustainable, cost‐effective, and biodegradable alternative in hygiene product manufacturing, contributing to waste valorization and environmental sustainability.
