Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: This study highlights the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in improving the quality of financial auditing in Libyan banks. The research problem is defined as examining the impact of AI technologies on the auditing process within Libyan financial institutions by monitoring and evaluating the mechanisms of AI implementation in these banks. To achieve the study’s objective, a structured questionnaire was developed and distributed to the study population, which included bank managers, financial directors, financial auditors, and heads of accounting departments in Tobruk City. A total of 50 validated questionnaires were distributed, and statistical tests were conducted on the collected data. The findings revealed that Libyan banks currently employ AI technologies in a limited capacity, particularly in areas related to expert systems, neural networks, machine learning, robotics, and natural language processing. The study also identified several challenges hindering the effective use of AI in financial auditing across Libya. In conclusion, the study recommends enhancing the adoption of AI mechanisms in Libyan banks, emphasizing their potential to add significant value to the financial auditing process.
