Abstract: This has also been discussed through the positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment (PERMA) model of well-being 2 by psychologist Martin Seligman. He introduced this model in the book, "Flourish: a visionary new understanding of happiness and well-being", replacing his previous "authentic happiness theory" with "well-being theory," which is an evidence-based framework later expanded by researchers through empirical research around the globe.PERMA model says well-being and flourishing are built on five anchors, which are positive emotion, engagement, relationship, meaning, and accomplishment 2,3 and here in this context, we witness the interference between science and timeless teachings of Vasudeva that are truly glaring.Positive emotions, 3 when experienced in adversity, constructivism plays a crucial role in building resilience and optimism through regulation and self-awareness.When the reins (mind) calm the horses (senses), we are not pushed to extremes. In the Gita, Vasudeva teaches Arjuna through equanimity (samatvam), "One whose mind remains undisturbed amidst misery, who does not crave for pleasure and who is free from attachment, fear, and anger is called a sage of steady wisdom.""द ु ःखे ष्वनु द्विगनमनाः सु खे षु द््वगतस्पृ हः। ्वीतरागभयक्रोधः द्सथितधीमु मु द्नरुचयते ॥"(BG:2.56) 4
