Abstract: This case describes a 62-year-old male who underwent kidney transplantation and was admitted 8 weeks post-operatively for evaluation and management of abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea. An extensive workup was performed, ultimately leading to a diagnosis of Strongyloides hyperinfection syndrome. This case highlights the importance of awareness of strongyloidiasis in non-endemic regions, management of Strongyloides hyperinfection syndrome in the post-transplant setting, and strategies for donor and recipient screening.
