Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: The article presents the results of a study of the relationship between willingness to work in a multitasking environment and the effectiveness of training future specialists (doctors and psychologists), as well as the success of extreme volunteers. The research methodology was based on the subject-activity psychological approach. The subject of the study is the subject's willingness to work in a multitasking environment. The aim is to study the willingness to work in a multitasking environment as a predictor of the success of professional activity in various fields. Methods: psychological testing based on the questionnaire for assessing the propensity to multitask in extreme conditions by V.E. Petrov, expert assessment, analysis of academic performance. The sample consisted of 301 people (students of Tver State Medical University and Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University, extreme volunteers). The processing of empirical data involved the use of descriptive statistics, frequency, correlation and regression analyses, and the assessment of differences in groups. The study found that dentists and extreme volunteers are more focused on multitasking activities than pediatricians and psychologists. Regression analysis confirmed the influence of willingness to work in a multitasking environment and its partial components on the success of current academic and future professional activities. The tendency to multitasking among career psychologists and extreme volunteers has a great impact on productivity. The results allow us to take into account the subject's willingness to function in a multitasking and multidisciplinary mode both in the educational process of universities and in the psychological support of extreme volunteerism.
