Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of the constitutional and legal responsibility of officials of local self-government bodies in the Kyrgyz Republic. The legal bases, mechanisms of bringing to responsibility, as well as the specifics of the application of the norms of the Constitution and legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in this area are considered. Special attention is paid to the principles of legality, fairness and proportionality in the implementation of the responsibility of officials. The article also analyzes gaps in legislation and offers recommendations for improving legal regulation to improve the efficiency of local government.
