Time Reversal Technique Experiments with a Software-Defined Radio
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Time reversal techniques have been investigated for ultrasound and electromagnetic waves. They offer some advantages, particularly in cluttered and inhomogeneous environments, for point-to-point applications. The instrumentation usually employed for electromagnetic time reversal involves costly vector network analyzers, different interconnected generators and receivers, or a base station for mobile phones. This article explores the use of a low-cost commercial software-defined radio, in frequencies between 700 MHz and 2100 MHz, with indoor tests showing its performance and observed voltage gains for the received pulse.
