Abstract: An in-depth knowledge of the anatomy of the atrioventricular and ventriculo-arterial junctions of the heart is necessary for the safe implementation of transcatheter approaches for electrophysiological and structural intervention. In the first part of this review, the atrioventricular junctional areas are revisited from the perspective of their anatomy.
