Year: 2025
Type: review
Study design: Study Protocol
Abstract: This review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of mobile applications in supporting healthcare professionals in the management of syphilis, focusing on diagnostic accuracy, treatment adherence, and clinical decision-making. The primary outcomes will include improvements in diagnostic performance, compliance with clinical protocols, and overall patient management. We will conduct a systematic review in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The protocol is registered in PROSPERO (CRD42024525010). Comprehensive searches will be performed across PubMed Central, CENTRAL, PsycINFO, Scopus, EMBASE, Web of Science, and CINAHL, covering the period from 2016 to 2025. Only randomized controlled trials (RCTs) will be included. Data extraction and quality appraisal will be carried out independently by two reviewers. The findings of this review will determine whether mobile applications can improve clinical decision-making and promote adherence to evidence-based protocols in the management of syphilis by healthcare professionals.
