Abstract: In this work, we put forth the observation that some V2 languages are sensitive to the category of the XP moved in first position, only in cases of embedded V2, but not in main clause V2. This shows: a) that embedded V2 can be different from main clause V2 and b) that different types of XPs do not undergo the same restrictions when moving to the left periphery. We propose an analysis of these differences in terms of relativized minimality.
