Abstract: ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Catherine G. Chu and Nick Lang are co-first authors on ‘ Lamin B loss in nuclear blebs is rupture dependent whereas increased DNA damage is rupture independent’, published in JCS. Catherine and Nick are co-lab managers in the lab of Andrew Stephens at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, MA, USA, where they are both investigating the mechanical basis of abnormal nuclear morphology and the effects it has on nuclear and cellular functions.
