Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of selected examples of the advisory discourse around the organization of unorganized recreation as a form of support for women between 1956 and1989. The content published in the bulletin „Gospodarstwo domowe”, is sued under auspices of the League of Women, as well as in guides written by Irena Gumowska, helped shape the ideal image of the woman/housewife in the context of societal expectations related to the efficient organization of family recreation in nature. The topics they covered included cooking skills, acquiring and preserving food, chosing tourist equipment, personal etiquette, and basic medical care.
