Beyond borrowed models: low-income and middle-income countries’ blueprint for sustainable implementation research and practices
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Implementation science is a discipline dedicated to systematically understanding how evidence-based practices (EBPs) are adopted and sustained in real-world settings. Within this field, implementation research serves as its foundational component, focusing on empirical studies and practices that operationalise implementation science theories and methodologies. Unlike implementation science, which encompasses broader conceptual frameworks, theories, and stakeholder engagement strategies, plementation research aims explicitly to translate these principles into actionable solutions using rigorous methodologies.
