E-Learning: The Interaction Between Educational Theories and Implementation Mechanisms

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: E-learning has become an essential component across all stages of education, supported by the increasing availability of technologies necessary for its implementation. Scientific research has consistently highlighted its role in enhancing learners’ achievement compared to traditional education. However, the random application of e-learning environments without reference to established theories and methods of teaching and learning may lead to negative outcomes. This study therefore, emphasizes the importance of aligning e-learning technologies with pedagogical theories and instructional methods, which represent the accumulated intellectual contributions of humanity across different eras. The paper presents key educational theories and teaching methods that can be effectively integrated into e-learning environments, with a focus on mechanisms and strategies for employing multimedia technologies. Furthermore, through an analysis of findings from previous studies that evaluated the application of various learning theories in e-learning contexts, the study demonstrates the improvement in learner achievement and underscores the significance of combining learning theories with e-learning technologies.
