Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Significance Non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) is the most common malignancy globally, with basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) comprising the majority of cases. This study reviews innovative non-surgical therapeutic approaches for treating NMSC. Approach The research explores various non-surgical options, including photodynamic therapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy, evaluating their efficacy and challenges. Results Emerging therapies such as combination photodynamic therapy and checkpoint blockade demonstrate enhanced antitumor effects and improved patient outcomes. Conclusions These findings emphasize the need for multidisciplinary approaches and personalized treatment plans.
