Abstract: This article examines England as a case study for “covenantal pluralism,” a relational and principled approach to managing a society’s deep religious diversity. While England maintains a legally established Church and numerous privileges for Christianity, it also fosters the enabling conditions of covenantal pluralism: religious liberty, religious literacy, and neighborly solidarity. The analysis in this article contends that the Church of England’s evolving role and inclusive ethos offer opportunities for cultivating a shared vision of the common good amidst increasing secularization and diversity.
