ExperimentSubset: An R package to manage subsets of bioconductor experiment objects

Abstract: ExperimentSubset is a data-container built on top of other Experiment classes such as SummarizedExperiment and SingleCellExperiment and imparts the ability to create and manipulate subsets in these classes. This results in memory savings in terms of object size and uses a single object for all data assays and subsets regardless of their dimensions. Additionally, it allows the users to track the origin of the subsets in large and complicated analysis workflows, thus offering data provenance.
