Abstract: A user-friendly, highly regioselective C-arylation of nitroalkanes with thiophenes and furan, employing a fascinating one-pot cascade process, has been developed. The formal C-H activation proceeds under mild conditions and follows a well-understood reaction mechanism supported by both experimental data and thorough theoretical investigation.
