Abstract: Socioeconomic privilege significantly impacts access to the veterinary profession by creating barriers related to educational resources, exposure, mentorship, and financial challenges. Individuals from low socioeconomic backgrounds face systemic inequities that result in disparities in demographic representation, professional opportunities, and overall wellbeing within the profession. Addressing these challenges can bridge gaps in care, enhance recruitment, and cultivate a workforce that better reflects the communities it serves. These findings underscore the urgent need for innovative strategies to foster a more diverse and inclusive veterinary profession.
