Abstract: Science museums assume an important function in science education that takes cultivating students’ core literacy as an important goal. The questionnaire method was used to measure the influence of different companions on students’ core literacy, and the research object was primary school students in grades 3-5. The two types of companions were parents and classmates of the same age. The results showed that parent-child free visits can improve students’ scientific inquiry, multi-angle thinking and dialectical thinking, as well as scientific attitude, but it was not helpful in confirming methods and answers. School group visits had no obvious improvement effect on students’ core literacy. Finally, it was proposed to develop and strengthen the exhibition visiting guide and educational activities based on the four dimensions of core literacy, strengthen the development of educational activities outside the science curriculum standard, and introduce school teachers to participate in the activities design.
