Cure sometimes, treat often, comfort always: reflections on the feasibility and timing of trials in the palliative setting
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Cachexia, the EMPATICC trial, and the challenges of clinical trials in the palliative care setting. Cachexia is an important feature of both heart failure and cancer, with impact on mortality and morbidity. Hence, targeting cachexia likely has clinical value; however, optimal endpoint choice and trial conduct in this setting is poorly defined.
