Study on the Main Room Connections in Kiyoshi Seike’s Residential Works

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze all of Kiyoshi Seike’s residential works to determine the characteristics of the main room connections. Drawings of the subject works were schematized, and 10 housing types, and chronological characteristics were derived from the characteristics of the interior spaces. The results revealed that the Seike “one-room dwelling” type is consistently emphasized as an integrated continuous space, and that various attempts have been made to create this type.
