Abstract: faced by adults, especially older adults; however, it is often not routinely screened or managed. Hearing loss can impact the quality of life not only of the individual who has hearing loss, but also their frequent communication partners, employers, family members, friends, and acquaintances. This literature review serves to examine what hearing loss is, how it is assessed, the evidence base for management of hearing loss and implications for life care planning.
