Abstract: The Fellow of the International Academy of Life Care Planning (FIALCP) designation is an industry honor that has been bestowed upon only twenty-one individuals since its inception almost two decades ago. This article explores the creation and evolution of the life care planning Fellowship designation. The requirements for application, the criteria by which applicants are scored and the purpose and goals of the Fellowship designation are discussed.
