Values in Innovation Management
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Value-based innovation management is a dynamic field that provides a wide range of new strategic methods which help management to engage employees in innovation processes, accelerate innovations, enhance sustainability, and shape competitive advantages. This review was an attempt to identify values for various stakeholders in innovative business. The synchronic and diachronic review of research on values in innovation management made it possible to systematize its scope and prospects. Standard methods combined with narrative review and content analysis revealed that value-based innovations are more efficient. Values appear not only at the management level, but all across corporate structure. The core values behind innovations are not permanent: they may change and be reconsidered, e.g., by stakeholders. Some reliable methods help to identify values and use them as innovation drivers. Values encourage co-reflection and ensure ethical and future-targeted decisions. Values help to justify and promote innovations in business.
