Abstract: Introduction: Cleaning and shaping of the root canal system are crucial steps in endodontic treatment. However, canal transportation is a frequent procedural error encountered during the preparation of curved canals. Canal transportation can hinder effective root canal cleaning, leaving debris and microorganisms within the root canal system and compromising the integrity of the root filling. Objective: The research was conducted to evaluate canal transportation and centering ability in mesiobuccal root canal of mandibular molars after preparation with ProTaper Next, EdgeFile X3 and Videya N file systems using Cone Beam Computed Tomography. Methods: sixty-three mandibular molars with two separate mesial canals were selected. After access cavity preparation and preinstrumentation CBCT scanning, teeth were divided randomly into three groups (21 teeth each) according to the used file system: ProTaper Next, EdgeFile X3 and Videya N system. These teeth were scanned after root canal preparation using the same prescanning parameters. Canal transportation and centering abilities of the tested instruments was calculated at 3, 6, 9 mm from the apex both mesiodistally and buccolingually. Data were collected and statistically analyzed using One Way ANOVA test p >0.05 Results: regarding canal transportation, there was statistically significant difference among the three groups at 6,9 mm from the apex. At 3mm from the apex, the difference was significant buccolingually. Regarding centering abilities, there was statistically significant difference among the three groups at the different levels. Conclusion: The evaluated file systems effectively shaped the curved mesiobuccal root canals of mandibular molars in terms canal transportation and centering abilities.
