Abstract: of Tables• There is wide variation of initial certification based on the specialty with many procedural specialties including "hands-on skills" of the field in the summative assessment• For 2024, most specialties have an initial pass rate of the qualifying exam >85% and EM has the lowest pass rate.• With evolving specialty practice, technology, and assessment capabilities specialty boards will need to evaluate the validity evidence and effectiveness of initial board certification.This download did not explore validity evidence of these summative assessments.• The majority of the specialty boards require state board licensure which allows for verification of credentials and unprofessionalism issues.• Further research is needed to elucidate variety amongst specialties for continuing certification.
