Large- and medium-vessel vasculitis with coronary artery involvement manifesting as heart failure in a patient with persistently elevated C-reactive protein
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) is not only a risk factor for cardiovascular complications including coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, and sudden cardiac death in otherwise healthy individuals, but can also arise secondary to myocardial necrosis or coronary interventions [1][2][3][4][5].However, in cardiac patients with persistently elevated CRP, other comorbidities must be excluded, which requires detailed medical investigation.
