Low-Noise, Frequency-Agile Photonic Integrated Blue Laser for LiDAR and Underwater Communication

Abstract: Frequency-agile, low-noise blue lasers are important for atomic clocks, aerosol LiDAR, and underwater communications, but currently no chip-scale devices exist. We present a photonic integrated blue laser combining self-injection locking to a Si3N4 photonic integrated circuit with monolithically integrated AIN piezoactuators providing frequency agility. ©2025 The Author(s)
