Academic-Style Posters: Lessons Learned After Evaluating Many
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: In this Commentary, the author discusses themes (poster guidance, format of posters, psychometric evidence, and comparing rubrics) that were amassed following a series of investigations into developing high-quality academic-style conference posters. This Commentary should serve as a call to action for future poster authors as they prepare and optimize the quality of their posters for presentation at academic conferences. Importantly, high-quality communication, including high-quality posters, will take time and effort; the revised Mixed-Approach Rubric for Poster Quality (rMAR-PQ) discussed within could play a part in this.
