Abstract: Takayasu arteritis is a large vessel vasculitis involving the aorta and its branches. It has a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations and lacks specific diagnostic markers. Here we present a case of a 30-year-old female with isolated aortic regurgitation who presented with constitutional symptoms. On examination, she had unequal pulses with blood pressure discrepancy in the upper arms. With these findings on general physical examination, Takayasu arteritis was suspected. Laboratory blood reports showed raised C-reactive protein. Computed tomography angiography was done and was diagnosed as Takayasu arteritis, on the basis of clinical and radiological findings. She was managed with high-dose prednisolone and methotrexate. At the latest follow-up, she reports doing well. This case highlights the importance of methodical and accurate physical examination of a patient.
