Stochastic compression with and without permutations

Abstract: We consider a simplified Ponzi pyramid scheme with and without freedom of movement, which simulates stochastic compression with high and low turbulence. For this case, surprisingly, the limit density distributions can be computed explicitly, and neat formulas are provided. As the dimension of space increases, the distinction between structured and turbulent compression becomes less pronounced. Already in dimension two, the density distributions are barely distinguishable. Please note that Ponzi schemes are typically considered a form of economic fraud. In this research, they are chosen because they illustrate well aspects of turbulent compression.
