Association of GLP-1 receptor agonist use with psychiatric outcomes in adults with type 2 diabetes: a target trial emulation

Abstract: In a real-world target trial emulation, GLP-1 receptor agonist initiation was not associated with increased risk of most psychiatric disorders compared with SGLT2i or DPP4i use, though a modest association with anxiety disorder was observed. Findings suggest the psychiatric safety of GLP-1RAs warrants further investigation.
