Project Anonymous: A Comprehensive Review of Zero Knowledge Architecture for Secure Real Time Communication

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive review of Project Anonymous, a novel zero-knowledge architecture for secure real-time communication that addresses critical privacy concerns in modern digital communication systems. Project Anonymous implements a unique combination of RSA-2048 encryption, WebRTC peer-to-peer communication, and zero-knowledge server design to provide military-grade security without compromising user experience. The system supports cross-platform deployment through React web applications and React Native mobile applications, enabling seamless encrypted messaging, voice calls, video calls, and file sharing. Our implementation demonstrates that strong privacy protection can be achieved without sacrificing functionality, with performance metrics showing sub-100ms latency for local communications and 99.2% connection success rates. The zero-knowledge server architecture ensures complete privacy of information by design, and prevents server administrators from accessing user communications even with full system privileges. This review is based on working project and provides a detailed comparative analysis with existing solutions (WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, Tor Messenger), identifies key improvements over current implementations, and analyzes technical implementation, security validation, performance evaluation, and practical deployment considerations. Key contributions include the demonstration of practical zero-knowledge communication, cross-platform security consistency, and the successful integration of real-time media streaming with end-to-end encryption.
