Abstract: In this study, four common heat source models for numerical simulation of LS(laser sintering) were compared and analyzed in combination with LS single-layer sintering experiment. The effects of laser response time, galvanometer response time and interpolation delay of printing process are further considered. It is observed that the temperature results of Gauss surface heat source are much higher than those of other volumetric heat source models and are far from the actual results. Among the three volumetric heat source models, the temperature simulation result of Gauss volumetric heat source model is the closest to the actual measured temperature value of LS process. For the same laser energy and galvanometer speed parameters, higher temperature results can be obtained through reasonable matching of laser response time, galvanometer response time and interpolation delay. The results show that the Gauss volumetric heat source is more accurate in numerical simulation analysis of LS. Among them, laser response time, galvanometer response time and the interpolation delay have great influence on the analysis results and should be taken as the necessary basic parameters.
