Education Between Village and City: The Role of the Community in Supporting School Education in Rural and urban Contexts
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article analyzes the role of the community in supporting the school education process from the perspective of the differences and similarities between rural and urban environments. Based on the premise that schools do not operate in isolation, but in interdependence with the social, economic and cultural realities of a community, the research explores how actors such as the family, the administration, economic agents contribute to or, on the contrary, limit the effectiveness of the educational approach. Using a qualitative approach, based on semi-structured interviews with teachers and community leaders from both backgrounds, the study highlights key factors such as social cohesion, civic involvement and access to resources. The results emphasize the need for differentiated and locally tailored strategies to strengthen the school-community partnership. The paper also proposes directions for intervention to develop relevant, equitable and sustainable education in both types of educational settings.
