Abstract: ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Xiaofei Li is first author on ‘ Vinculin Y822 phosphorylation regulates adhesion remodeling during cardiomyocyte maturation’, published in JCS. Xiaofei conducted the research described in this article while a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Glenn Radice's lab at Cardiovascular Research Center, Rhode Island Hospital, Brown University Health, USA, investigating upregulated vinculin (VCL) pY822 in the post-myocardial infarction heart. He is now a Senior Scientist in the lab of Hitesh Soni at Tectonic Therapeutic Inc., Watertown, MA, USA.
