Abstract: There are effective treatments for onychomycosis. However, patients may defer treatment due to potential side effects of oral medications, the inconvenience of applying topical medications, or costs, and may inquire about resolution without treatment. Spontaneous resolution of onychomycosis is underexplored1 but is generally thought to be zero or minimal.2 Therefore, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the proportion of onychomycosis resolution among placebo-treated patients.
