Abstract: ABSTRACT Streamlined preparation of structurally/functionally integrated stealth materials with excellent performance remains challenging. Herein, we propose a novel concept of a bifunctional (BF) metastructure designed to transform conventional fiber/resin composites into high‐performance, structurally and functionally integrated metamaterials. This is achieved through the streamlined integration of a carbon fiber bundle (CB) grid within a glass fiber cloth (GC)/epoxy composite, synergistically combining wave‐absorption capabilities with load‐bearing performance. BF‐metastructure can synergize microstructure and macrostructure to simultaneously attenuate electromagnetic waves, thereby endowing GC/epoxy‐metamaterial with outstanding wave‐absorbing performance. The maximum effective absorption bandwidth reaches 8.08 GHz at a thickness of 3.5 mm, and its specific absorption bandwidth can be increased significantly compared with similar composites reported to date. Additionally, BF‐metastructure can rapidly transmit a local external force to the whole system through a carefully constructed regular network, “binding” every component together to jointly respond to the external force, and relying on CB high modulus to prevent deformation of low modulus components, significantly improving impact resistance and tensile properties. The new concept of BF‐metastructure and the novel strategy of streamlined constructing BF‐metastructures are of great significance for the research and application of the cost‐effective structurally/functionally integrated fiber/resin composites.
