Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The study aims to explore how social media interaction can improve social relationships and technical music skills. The study involved 364 participants, divided into two groups: an experimental group that engaged in music through social networks, and a control group that engaged in musical activities without using these networks. The methods of data collection were the Interpersonal Relationship Scale and a musical technique test, followed by independent and paired sample t -tests. The results showed a noticeable improvement in the experimental group: social relationship scores increased from an average of 72.82 to 79.35, and musical skills increased from 54.55 to 68.90. For comparison, the control group's indicator also slightly improved: social relations scores increased from 63.64 to 68.26, and musical skills from 49.31 to 53.28. The improvements were statistically significant (p < 0,001). The results show the important role of social media in strengthening social connections and developing technical skills in music. • Musical communication through social media has undergone significant evolution. • There were noticeable improvements in both social relationships and musical skills. • Social media assists collective creativity and the exchange of innovative practices.
