Mechanical properties dataset of materials used in reinforced concrete beam – column joints with and without steel fibers
Year: 2025
Type: data-paper
Abstract: This article presents a dataset on the mechanical properties of the materials and concrete used in the construction of reinforced concrete beam-column joint specimens. The dataset includes: (1) results from uniaxial tensile tests of steel reinforcing bars (No. 3, 5, and 6); (2) physical and mechanical properties of the fine and coarse aggregates; (3) results of fresh concrete tests (slump flow); (4) hardened state properties, including the compressive strength of cylinders (15 cm diameter x 30 cm height) and the flexural strength of beams (60×15×15 cm); and (5) data for reinforced concrete with hooked-end steel fibers at a volumetric fraction of 0.7%. All the constituent materials, CPC-30R cement, aggregates, reinforcing steel, and fibers, were characterized according to applicable technical standards. A concrete mix was designed, and specimens were fabricated with and without fibers. The dataset is supplemented with images documenting the experimental procedures and failure modes.
